The others seeming shallow is like questioning why don't others feel this way? And then the alarm and morning arriving is like running out of time to sit and dwell it is now time to act. The ocean growing inside is the angst building up to go and do something outside the societal norm that is set for them. In the second stanza the running around represents one's every day life work bills rent etc. As they see everyone else carrying on their every day life as if it were meant to be. The voice saying 'Let it happen' is the pressure one feels by society to follow the rinse and repeat order. My InterpretationIn the first stanza the "noise" I feel is a representation of one's deeper thoughts and goals. Oh, I'm ready for the moment and the sound (Why would I do it? And you wanna think that) (Take the next ticket to take the next train) (They be lovin' someone and I'm not that stupid) (All the while thinking I might as well do it) (Try to get through it, try to bounce to it) (I will not vanish and you will not scare me) Why would I do it? And you wanna think that Take the next ticket to take the next train They be lovin' someone and I'm not that stupid Try to get through it, try to bounce to itĪll the while thinking I might as well do it I will not vanish and you will not scare me It's gonna carry off all that isn't boundĪnd when it happens, when it happens (I won't be holdin' on) I heard about a whirlwind that's comin' 'round

"Let it happen, let it happen (it's gonna feel so good) Not saying that Kevin never used different tuning for different songs, it's just a fact that the majority of the stuff is in D.But not nearly as loud as the voice saying There's absolutely no point in arguing and discrediting other people when all you have to do is look up Tame Impala live, figure out which chord voicings or notes they're playing, and see how far up the neck their hands are. Having experience in music for 5, 25 or 50 years doesn't mean anything sometimes. Just stop acting like an asshole and downvoting other people's comments because you think you know better. Jeremy's Storm is impossible to play exactly to the recording in any other tuning except drop D because of how low the open strings are. Kev's even playing the basic Love Paranoia E, A, and F (if I recall correctly) chords with a 2nd fret capo or using barre chords on the 2nd/3rd fret because his guitars are obviously not tuned to E Standard, otherwise he'd be playing those chords near the headstock. You sound so sure and so stubborn, yet all you have to do is look at videos of Kevin, Dom and Cam playing live and you'll see that their hand positioning is too far up the neck to be E standard. He tunes his guitar to D Standard but most of the songs can still be played in E Standard or Drop D.
